Our Spectrum Monitoring Systems are scalable, low cost data collection networks based on RFeye, broadband, intelligent, GPS-enabled real-time spectrum analyser nodes
Designed for fast spectral analysis from 10 MHz to 6 GHz (10 MHz to 18 GHz using optional block down converter), and housed in a small lightweight housing suitable for use in both indoor and outdoor environments, the RFeye nodes can be deployed in both fixed or mobile applications.
A built-in Linux PC permits autonomous operation, and high-accuracy GPS provides accurate position and time stamping to allow correlation of data between different RFeye nodes. Data may either be stored locally, transmitted over the air via the built-in GPRS/HSPA modem, or downloaded via standard wired interfaces to a centralised database.
The capabilities of the RFeye node are key to providing a cost-effective system that can provide continuous, 24/7 monitoring of the radio spectrum:
Try RFeye with our evaluation systems
We offer a low cost evaluation system for customers who wish to evaluate the RFeye node capability, consisting of an RFeye node, broadband (300 MHz – 6 GHz) log-periodic antenna, interfacing software and accessories pack (including GPS and GSM/GPRS antennas, cables, mains power supply unit, etc.), all contained in a rugged transit case.

Round-the-clock active spectrum surveillance
Fixed RFeye nodes can be pole or wall mounted to provide 24/7 active spectrum surveillance, signal location estimation and long-term trend analysis.
An environmental sealing cover provides full protection for outside use, and various mounting options are available to suit different installations. Nodes may also be powered over an Ethernet connection if required.
RFeye nodes may be mounted on any suitable vehicle for mobile investigations, where the benefits of low power consumption, ruggedness and built-in GPS are particularly useful
Vehicle based mobile nodes, particularly those mounted on ordinary delivery or service vehicles driving standard routes, provide cost-effective geographical coverage, and by using local data storage no technical expertise is required of the driver of the vehicle.
We offer customers a complete pre-integrated solution for unobtrusive mobile monitoring, housed in a standard vehicle roofbox, and including an RFeye node, antennas, power control circuitry, battery back-up and high-capacity USB memory stick for local storage and easy transfer of data after each survey. Only a connection to a standard vehicle cigar lighter socket is required to provide power.
For discreet investigation of spectrum usage at short range (e.g. in urban locations), we offer customers a complete pre-integrated man-portable solution contained in a standard backpack
The system includes an RFeye node, internally-mounted antennas, battery providing approximately 6 hours of useful life, high-speed vehicle/mains charger and high-capacity USB memory stick for local storage and easy transfer of data after each survey.
A netbook PC is also provided for monitoring signals received during the survey, if required. Overall backpack weight is approximately 6 kg, permitting cost-effective extended surveys in the local environment, with no technical expertise required of person carrying the backpack.
